SAVE THE TREE?

Maybe the world is suffering from excess carbon
dioxcide because some advertising suggests that
we should only SAVE THE TREE.
As most of you readers will know that `THE` in
English indicates (1) or singular form in grammatical
terms; and what happenned to the (s) in the latter
part of  TREES?
My advice to you all is that we should try and save
as many trees as possible if we want to suffer less
from toxic fumes and leave a cleaner world for
our children.

ある特定の木を守ろう! となってしまうのですね。(^^;

ぺブルビーチのローン・サイプレス・ツリーは有名ですね。

My apologies to you Hiro. Good point! I myself haven`t been clear in this area. Thank you for being so observant.

In this particular case I assume that this is an advertisement in making us `environmentally aware` and I presumed that they would want us to save more than one type of tree. If there is a tree type(name)
mentioned you can use both plural and singular

For example:

Eucalyptus Tree

One would say `Save the Eucalyptus tree`
or `Save the Eucalyptus trees`
