The Story

A son asked his father, ‘Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?’
The father who, despite having a heart condition said ‘yes.’ They went
on to complete the marathon together.

Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying
‘yes’ to his son’s request of going through the race together.

One day, the son asked his father, ‘Dad, let’s join the Ironman
together.’ To which, his father said ‘yes’ too.

For those who don’t know, the Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The
race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometers)
ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometers) bike ride, and
ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometers) marathon along the coast of
the Big Island .

The father and son went on to complete the race together.

Yes my friend…..pretty inspiring isn`t it? I hope that people who are caught up in unnecessary petty dramas can learn from this dedication and move forward. I know that my heart strings were pulled and I felt so tingly inside!

I watched the video, I couldn’t stop crying. I think the Ironman is very hard sports. …ocean swim, bike ride, and marathon… (I don’t want to try.) But they tried it.

Son has handicap and his father has problem with heart. I n such a bad condition, I thought they can’t obtain their goal. But they could do it!! It’s amazing, wonderful. I was moved. My tears overflowed again.

There is nothing impossible. Even though handicapped or healthy body. In fact, it’s important to try anything. Thinking is not enough, I’ve got to take action. They gave me a brave and a strong spirit. Never give up…

message from Erina:
this is a speech one of my students had written last week after watching this video. I asked her if it was ok to share it on the blog as a comment. She said yes. I’ve typed in the non-edited version because it comes from her heart and is very beautiful.

Hi Checco

Absolutely true!! I agree with you. We must always try our best in everything we do. To have a goal is very important and no matter how hard things are in life, we should always look towards the goal and keep on going because the victory at the end is always the ultimate.

Remember that we are given challenges in life to learn and this is when we grow most and become better people if we can live through the difficult times..

I hope you visit us again at Heart to Heart Cheeco.
It was nice to read your special comment. Thank you!
And thanks Erina for introducing Cheeco !!

I´m not sure if I can be able to share what I felt while I was watching the video: my heart started beating fast, my troat became a stone, my skin turned on “skin of hen” and my eyes spilt tears, meanwhile my soul shouted me: “Fight for you want, fight for your sons and fight for being happy”.

Thank you.

Oh, Oh Hector My Friend!!!

YOur heartfelt words to hear after so many years of not seeing your handsome shining eyes and hearing your truthful words have been missed by me!I was so excited to see your message to us at Heart to Heart! Thank you!!
Can you believe Hector that it has been 7 years since we have communicated like this? I was just telling some friends the other day when we went on a trip to the mountains that I had my own little business teaching English to big business groups in Mexico. Even though you were my student, I learn`t so much from you as a student myself, and I will be forever grateful for your love and time that we spent together inside and outside of the conference room!!
I`m sure you have been a great father to your boys and will continue to be. Just let your spirit lead you my friend and there will be no mistakes….just live in love and continue to learn.

All My Love
Clarissa
