My Gifu Holiday Experience

Filed under: topics英会話名古屋 — clarissa 英会話 名古屋 Heart to Heart at 1:17 pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2008

Hi All,

My name’s Dion and I am Clarissa’s brother. I live in Australia but I’ve spent the last few days on holiday in Gifu and have had a wonderful time with Clarissa and her friends. Thanks to everyone who has made this a great holiday for me!

I was surprised at how much natural beauty there is in Gifu. If you live in this city, you are truly lucky.

One of the interesting things I did while I was here was visit a cafe that has a pet tortoise as its mascot. Thanks for taking us there Erina-chan!

Do you know this cafe’s name?

Another interesting thing I did here was experience an excellent massage and ‘cupping’ treatment given by Mitsuyoshi. His father developed this massage technique that uses the body’s natural energy to heal itself.

Thanks mate-your service was very professional and I still feel great!

I also had the pleasure of visiting Tanigumi San with Kazuo, who is an excellent tour guide! I have visited many temples around Japan and this one is probably among my most favorite. I know many people may find that strange as it is not as famous or ‘beautiful’ as the ones in Kyoto or Tokyo. The main reason I like it is that most of the buildings are in a very original state and in my opinion, have great character.

What do you think?

Kouzo

And then last night we went and had some AMAZING food at an izakaya named Kouzo. Thank you to Hiro and all the staff there. The atmosphere, decor and food were very unique and the service was excellent!

Again, thanks to everyone who made my trip so enjoyable.

ありがとう ございます!

I hope to come back here in the future.

Do you have any suggestions of where I should go and what I should experience next time I come?

I’m glad to know you like the beauty of Gifu area where I frequently visited while I lived in Nagoya. It must be exciting when you find an old unknown temple standing quietly in the beautiful nature, which is still quite possible in Gifu area!
I hope Sapporo-a newly developed city whose history started only 140 years ago- is still interesting for you!

Gifu must be a beautiful place. The flora and fauna blending with flowing streams just gives me a cool relaxing feeling. The people and food, not forgeting the “Biru” is also delightful and exciting.
Some of the landscape and tourist attractions reminds me of a holiday we had in Kyoto. Some of my friends tell me that Heart to Heart English Club is a wonderful place to learn and practise speaking english in a relaxed atmosphere. I would like to visit one day.

Hmmm…Gifu looks like a great place to visit.
I love nature (and beer) so I think I Gifu would be the perfect place to combine the two. Cheers!!
